Keep your new surface looking its best
Use the product-specific guidance supplied for your installation, including when the surface can be used and which cleaning methods are suitable. The notes below are general guidance, not a replacement for your handover documents.
Step 1
Handover day
We walk the finished work with you and explain when you can walk and drive on it, plus the care and cover documents for your installation.
Step 2
First weeks
Follow the use guidance given at handover. Keep heavy or sharp point loads off a new surface and deal with spills promptly.
Step 3
Every season
Keep drainage channels, gullies and edges clear of leaves and soil so water can run away.
Step 4
If something looks wrong
Take a photo and contact Dan with your project reference before trying any repair or treatment.

- Clear leaves and debris, and use the recommended cleaning method.
- Ask before using pressure washing, chemicals or de-icing products.

- Clear debris and spills promptly, and check product guidance before using chemicals or pressure washing.
Natural stone paving
- Care varies with the stone and finish. Use an appropriate cleaner and test treatments as the supplier recommends.
- Discuss sealing or specialist stain removal before applying a product.
Concrete paving
- Follow the guidance for the specified paving and joints.
- Check that a cleaner or treatment is suitable before use, and seek advice about staining or changes in the surface.
Steps, edges and drainage
- Keep visible channels and access points clear of debris.
- Report loose units, damaged edges or changes in water movement so the cause can be assessed.
