Commercial footpaths
Connect entrances and shared areas with a surface suited to the route. We review the supplied layout, widths, levels, drainage and access arrangements before agreeing the work.
Structure First. Surface Second.
Joined-up levels
Review entrances, thresholds and connections along the whole route.
Defined surface choice
Match the finish to the route's use and maintenance needs.
Clear boundaries
Record which edges, drainage connections and adjoining areas are included.
Define the package
A clear brief. An agreed scope.
Route & connections
Share the layout and accessibility brief. Required gradients, widths and crossfalls should be confirmed by the responsible designer where specialist design is needed.
Surface & support
Consider asphalt, block paving or resin bound alongside the supporting construction and edging. Material selection follows site review.
Working around access
Identify pedestrian movements and any routes that cannot close. Agree temporary routes and phasing alongside the scope and access plan.
Before a proposal
The site requirements shape the package.
Structure First. Surface Second. Review loading, retained construction, water routes and interfaces with work by others before agreeing the surface. Dan will clarify what is included, who is responsible and which decisions remain outstanding.
- Route width, gradients, crossfalls and thresholds
- Pedestrian use and client accessibility requirements
- Existing base, tree roots and nearby services
- Surface water routes and edge restraints
- Public access, closures and alternative routes

From scope to handover.
- 01
Review
Site location, intended use, loading and existing construction.
- 02
Specify
Agreed preparation, drainage interfaces, surface and exclusions.
- 03
Programme
Access, phasing and required dates reviewed before commitment.
- 04
Handover
Record the agreed work and provide relevant aftercare guidance.
Project questions.
Does resin bound make a path permeable?
Not by itself. Water movement depends on the complete construction, supporting layers, ground conditions and drainage design.
Can the route stay open during work?
Do not assume so. Closure requirements, alternative routes and phasing need to be agreed for the particular site.
What should we send with an enquiry?
Send the site location, intended use, approximate area, drawings or specification, and required dates. Identify work by others and any tender deadline so the review starts with a clear brief.
Is a date confirmed when we enquire?
No. Scope, access arrangements and the proposed programme need review before dates are agreed. Tell Dan about fixed deadlines at the outset.
A quotation against a defined scope.
Send the drawings, specification and programme available. We review preparation, surfacing, drainage interfaces, access and work by others, then identify the inclusions, exclusions and outstanding clarifications.
Ask Dan about relevant project experience and the information available for your proposed package.
Discuss your site with Dan.
