Resin Bound by Hinchliffe
Rated 5 on Google

Resin bound surfacing for driveways, patios and paths.

Explore a coordinated aggregate finish around your home. The colour connects the spaces; the construction is specified for how each area will be used.

About Resin Bound

A finish supported by the right build-up.

A resin surface does not establish the suitability or permeability of the whole construction. We assess the layers below, the ground, levels and drainage before specifying the system.

Resin driveways

Consider vehicle use, turning movements, retained construction and drainage alongside your chosen blend.

Resin patios

Create a continuous finish for seating areas, with thresholds, edges and water routes considered together.

Resin paths

Connect the driveway, house and garden with a finish that can coordinate with adjoining areas.

Is resin bound right for you?

Pros

  • Continuous finish with no loose stones
  • Can be permeable with a suitable complete construction
  • Choice of natural colour blends
  • Routine sweeping and cleaning

Considerations

  • Needs a sound base underneath — we check this first
  • Best laid in dry weather
  • Compare the complete construction and finish, not the surface rate alone

Beneath the finish

One engineering control process. Surface-specific construction.

We review ground conditions, levels, drainage, loading and access for every project. The materials and construction are then specified for the chosen surface and its intended use.

  • Existing construction: overlay or full reconstruction
  • Base type and depth specified for the area's use
  • Drainage route and ground permeability
  • Levels at doors, thresholds and damp-proof course
  • Edges, kerbs and chambers

Structure First. Surface Second.

Why what's underneath matters.

Drag the handle to compare a rushed shallow dig with the way we build. An illustration, not a specification — your site sets the real depths.

Looking after your surface.

Wipe up oil or fuel quickly with warm soapy water to avoid staining.

Know what happens next.

  1. 1.

    Assess your site.

Tell us how you want the space to look and work. We review the existing surface, levels, drainage and access, and discuss suitable options.

  2. 2.

    Agree your proposal.

Your written proposal explains the recommended construction, materials, scope and price, including allowances and anything still to confirm.

  3. 3.

    Install and hand over.

We carry out the agreed work, review the finished project with you and explain the care and reopening guidance for your installation.

Understand what your price includes.

Your proposal brings preparation, supporting construction, materials and finishing details into one scope. It explains the work included, any allowances, exclusions and items that need further assessment.

If you want to explore a different budget, we can discuss the materials, detailing or extent of the project while keeping the preparation your site needs.

Resin Bound questions.

What is a resin bound driveway?+

A mix of UV-stable polyurethane resin and natural, kiln-dried aggregate, hand-trowelled onto a prepared base. The result is a continuous surface that can be permeable over a suitable complete construction. Follow the care guidance for your installed system.

Can resin go over my existing drive?+

Sometimes. It depends on the condition of what is there now. We assess the base and tell you honestly whether an overlay or full reconstruction is right.

How long does it last?+

A stable base, suitable resin and aggregate, planned drainage and care support long-term performance. Your specification records the proposed system, and your handover guidance explains cleaning and when to use the surface. Any workmanship cover and separate manufacturer warranties are identified with their terms in your proposal; no lifespan is assumed from the finish alone.
